WordPress Email Sequence Examples (5 Copy-Paste)

Welcome, affiliate, launch, webinar, re-engage.

Share
XLinkedInFacebook

These WordPress email sequence examples give you five complete automated paths you can copy: welcome, affiliate nurture, product launch, webinar, and re-engagement. Each includes real subject lines and paragraph-level body copy, not just outlines.

Sequences differ from one-off broadcasts because each message triggers automatically based on when someone subscribed or how they behaved. Most funnels need three to five emails, not twenty.

We set up every example below on a fresh WordPress 6.x install with BlitzFunnel active. Delays are measured from signup date unless noted.

Before you launch, go to BlitzFunnel Settings, send a test email, and confirm SPF and DKIM records are configured on your domain.

Five WordPress email sequence types

Five WordPress email sequence types: Welcome → Affiliate nurture → Launch → Webinar → Re-engagement.

How email sequences work in WordPress

A visitor opts in on a funnel page. WordPress, through a funnel plugin or email automation tool, adds them to a list and starts a sequence. Email 1 sends immediately. Email 2 waits two days.

Email 3 waits five days from signup, not from when the previous email was opened.

Setup guide: WordPress email automation. Funnel context: email funnel guide. If you use an external ESP, connect the form trigger and paste the same copy into that tool's sequence editor.

Delays are usually measured from signup date, not from when the previous email was opened. Someone who joins Monday gets email 2 on Wednesday even if they never opened email 1.

Sequence 1: Welcome and deliver lead magnet

The default list-building sequence delivers the free resource, teaches one useful idea, introduces a soft offer, and optionally shares a personal story. Best for lead gen funnels and new subscriber onboarding.

Email 1 , Day 0
Subject: Your WordPress funnel starter checklist is inside

You asked for the WordPress funnel starter checklist , here it is: [DOWNLOAD LINK]

Before you open it, do this one thing. Skim page one and circle the one step you have not done yet. Most new funnel builders skip the thank-you message and wonder why subscribers think the form broke.

Over the next week I will send two short emails with one tip each. No pitch until you have had time to use the checklist.

, [Your name]

Email 2 , Day 2
Subject: Try this headline pattern today

Quick tip from section four of your checklist: name the free gift in your headline, not your brand.

Weak: "Welcome to our newsletter." Strong: "Get your free WordPress funnel starter checklist." The second version tells people exactly what they receive.

Open your landing page draft and rewrite the headline in that format. Send me a reply if you want feedback , I read every message.

Email 3 , Day 5
Subject: When you are ready to build the full funnel in WordPress

You have the checklist. When you want the page, form, thank-you message, and follow-up emails in one WordPress setup, our funnel plugin guide walks through the wizard step by step: [LINK to /wordpress-funnel-plugin/].

No pressure. The checklist works on its own. This is just the next step when you are ready.

, [Your name]

Email 4 , Day 7 (optional)
Subject: Why I care about WordPress funnels

I started this site after rebuilding the same opt-in page three times with three different plugins. I wanted one path that did not require five logins.

If that sounds familiar, start with the checklist step you circled on day one. Small wins compound.

Welcome sequence timing

Welcome sequence timing: Day 0: Deliver → Day 2: Tip → Day 5: Soft offer → Day 7: Story.

Sequence 2: Affiliate nurture (checklist funnel)

Warms subscribers with value, then recommends one affiliate product with clear disclosure. This is the email half of Email Tool Pick Checklist funnel promoting ConvertKit. Full page copy lives in our affiliate funnel template.

Email 1 , Day 0
Subject: Your Email Tool Pick Checklist is inside (+ one quick win)

Hi there, here is the Email Tool Pick Checklist you requested: [DOWNLOAD LINK]

Before you compare every tool on the market, open page two and run the deliverability test on your current setup. Send a test email to mail-tester.com and note your score.

Most WordPress bloggers skip this and wonder why welcome emails land in promotions.

In two days I will share the biggest mistake I see when bloggers switch email tools.

Email 2 , Day 2
Subject: The mistake most WordPress bloggers make when switching email tools

When I moved my first WordPress site off a free email plan, I exported my list and cancelled the old tool on the same day. Three subscribers never got the migration notice.

Run both tools in parallel for two weeks instead. Send your newsletter from the old tool while your welcome sequence runs from the new one. Section three of your checklist walks through this.

In a few days I will share the tool I use on client sites. No pressure.

Email 3 , Day 5
Subject: The email tool I use on every WordPress client site (14-day free trial)

You have the checklist and the migration framework. The tool I keep using for WordPress bloggers under two thousand subscribers is ConvertKit. Tagging by content interest is straightforward and the WordPress plugin connects forms without Zapier.

It is not perfect. Visual automations take an afternoon to learn. If budget is tight, your checklist scoring table may point you to MailerLite instead.

Disclosure: If you purchase through my link, I may earn a commission at no extra cost to you.

Always include affiliate disclosure in the recommendation email: "We may earn a commission if you buy through our links."

Sequence 3: Product launch (five emails)

Builds anticipation and urgency for a timed offer. Assumes a waitlist or warm list. Example product: a WordPress plugin called Funnel Fixer.

Email 1 , Three days before open
Subject: Something new is coming Thursday

For the past six months readers have asked for one plugin that connects landing pages, forms, and follow-up emails without five separate tools. Funnel Fixer launches this Thursday.

If you are on this list, you already know the problem. Thursday morning I will send the full breakdown, early-bird pricing, and a bonus for the first forty-eight hours.

, [Your name]

Email 2 , One day before
Subject: Why I built Funnel Fixer

I rebuilt the same opt-in funnel three times last year. Page builder for the landing page. Form plugin for capture. ESP for emails. Nothing talked to each other cleanly.

Funnel Fixer keeps the wizard, page, form, thank-you message, and three follow-up emails in one WordPress menu. Tomorrow you will see inside: the five-step wizard, the email editor, and visit counts per funnel.

, [Your name]

Email 3 , Cart open morning
Subject: Funnel Fixer is live , early-bird bonus ends Saturday

Doors are open. Funnel Fixer includes the five-step wizard, built-in email sequences, offer-link tracking, and unlimited funnels on Pro.

Early-bird bonus: importable funnel templates for lead magnet, affiliate bridge, and launch campaigns. Bonus removed Saturday at midnight.

Email 4 , Day 2 of cart open
Subject: Quick answers about Funnel Fixer

Price: $89/year Pro, $49/year Starter. Time: most users finish the wizard in under an hour. Refunds: thirty days, no questions. Not for you if you need enterprise CRM features or complex multi-branch automation.

[BUTTON: Get Funnel Fixer]

Email 5 , Final hours
Subject: Last hours: Funnel Fixer early-bird closes tonight

Early-bird pricing and the template bonus bundle end tonight at midnight. After that, price goes to standard and the importable templates leave the bonus stack.

Product launch email arc: Tease → Origin story → Social proof → Cart open → Last chance.

Sequence 4: Webinar sequence

Moves registrants from signup to live attendance, then to replay and offer. Example webinar: "Build your first WordPress funnel in 45 minutes."

Webinar sequences fail when confirmation emails bury the join link or when replay messages pitch before attendees had a chance to watch. Each message below has one job: confirm, remind, nudge live, or convert replay viewers.

Set delays from registration time, not from opens. Someone who registers Friday for a Tuesday webinar still gets the twenty-four-hour reminder even if they never opened the confirmation.

Use the same webinar title in every subject line so Gmail threads the series. Replace dates and links with your live event details.

If you sell an affiliate offer on replay, add disclosure in email 4 only , not in the confirmation message.

Email 1 , Immediately after registration
Subject: You are registered: Build your first WordPress funnel

You are in for Thursday, August 28 at 2:00 PM Eastern (11:00 AM Pacific). Add the event to your calendar now so it does not slip behind other meetings.

What to prepare: have WordPress admin access ready and one free resource in mind for your lead magnet. We will build the page live.

Email 2 , 24 hours before
Subject: Tomorrow: build your first WordPress funnel (live)

Tomorrow at 2 PM Eastern we cover three things: choosing the right page type, writing a headline that converts, and setting up three follow-up emails without leaving WordPress.

Join link: [WEBINAR URL]. Reply with your biggest funnel question , I may answer it live.

Email 3 , 1 hour before
Subject: Starting in 60 minutes , join here

We go live in one hour. Close other tabs, grab water, and join here: [WEBINAR URL]

If you cannot make it live, you will still get the replay tomorrow , but live Q&A is where most setup questions get answered.

, [Your name]

Email 4 , 2 hours after live session
Subject: Replay inside (+ special offer until Friday)

Missed the live session or want to rewatch? Replay link: [REPLAY URL]

Highlights: 0:00 intro, 8:30 headline walkthrough, 22:00 email sequence setup, 38:00 Q&A.

Special offer for attendees: Funnel Fixer Pro at early-bird price until Friday midnight. [BUTTON: Get the replay + offer]

, [Your name]

After the replay window closes, move buyers into your regular newsletter and stop the cart emails. Webinar sequences are time-boxed by design , see our webinar funnel template for the full page path that feeds this sequence.

Sequence 5: Re-engagement

Win back subscribers who have not opened in sixty to ninety days. Cleans your list, improves deliverability, and recovers interested readers before they go stale.

Re-engagement is not a sales sequence. You are asking whether the relationship should continue. Three short emails over one week work better than a single guilt-heavy message.

Tag inactive subscribers in your ESP or funnel plugin before you send. Exclude recent buyers and anyone already in a launch sequence so messages do not collide.

Email 1 offers one best recent post with a click-to-stay signal. Email 2 shares three useful links without pitching. Email 3 asks for an explicit stay-or-leave click and removes non-responders. That pattern protects deliverability for everyone still reading.

Email 1 , Day 0
Subject: Still interested in WordPress funnels?

I noticed you have not opened an email in a while. No guilt , inboxes are crowded.

If you still want funnel tips, here is the best thing I published recently: [LINK to top post]. Click that link and you will stay on the active list.

, [Your name]

Email 2 , Day 3
Subject: My three most useful funnel posts

If you are catching up, start with these three posts. Each one stands alone:

1. How to build a sales funnel in WordPress

2. WordPress funnel templates

3. Lead magnet funnel guide

Pure value, no pitch. Click any link if you want to stay subscribed.

, [Your name]

Email 3 , Day 7
Subject: Should I remove you from this list?

I clean my list quarterly so emails reach people who actually read them. If you want to stay, click here: [STAY SUBSCRIBED LINK].

No click within forty-eight hours and I will remove you automatically. No hard feelings , you can always rejoin from the site later.

, [Your name]

After the purge, watch open rates on your next broadcast. A five-point lift is common when dead addresses drop off. Pair this sequence with SPF, DKIM, and DMARC checks from our WordPress email automation guide if opens stay flat.

Writing tips for all sequences

Give each email one job: deliver, teach, or sell, not all three. Plain subject lines beat clever ones. Specific beats vague. Format for mobile with short paragraphs and tappable buttons.

Invite replies where appropriate because engagement signals help inbox placement. Send the full sequence to yourself and two other email providers before you turn on traffic.

Read every email aloud before you publish. If you run out of breath mid-sentence, split the paragraph. If the CTA feels abrupt, add one bridge sentence that connects the lesson to the offer.

Sequences fail more often from tone mismatch than from missing features.

When you adapt these examples, keep the timing and change the nouns. The day 0, day 2, day 5 rhythm works because it respects the reader's pace.

Launch and webinar sequences compress timing intentionally because the reader already raised their hand for a time-sensitive event.

Common sequence mistakes

Daily pitches fatigue new subscribers. Email 1 must deliver what the opt-in promised. Missing unsubscribe links violates law and reader expectations. Repeating the same subject line structure every time trains people to ignore you.

Never-ending sequences without a transition to a regular newsletter leave subscribers stuck in pitch mode.

A subtler mistake is mixing sequence types on one list. Someone in a five-day launch cadence should not also receive the welcome series. Use tags or separate lists so automation rules do not double-send.

Another failure mode is pitching in email 1 before the download link works. Test delivery with Gmail and Outlook before you turn on Pinterest or ad traffic. Broken links on day zero destroy trust for the whole sequence.

If unsubscribes spike on email 3, the offer may be too far from the lead magnet topic. A checklist subscriber expects funnel advice, not a random plugin roundup. Match sequence 2 or 3 to the page they opted in on.

Pick one sequence, copy the copy, customize for your niche

Start with the welcome or affiliate sequence if you are new to WordPress funnels. Add launch or webinar sequences when you run timed promotions.

Setup: WordPress email automation. Funnel context: email funnel guide. Affiliate-specific: affiliate email sequence.

FAQ

How many emails should a WordPress funnel sequence have?

Three to five for most funnels. Launch and webinar sequences may run longer. Re-engagement is typically three emails over one week.

What is the best delay between funnel emails?

Day 0, day 2, and day 5 is a proven default for nurture. Launch emails may be daily during cart open. Test one day longer if unsubscribes spike.

Can I run multiple sequences at once?

Yes, but use tags or separate lists so someone in a launch sequence does not also get the welcome series. Funnel plugins usually handle this with automation rules.

Which WordPress tools send automated sequences?

Funnel plugins with built-in email like BlitzFunnel, MailPoet, FluentCRM, and connected ESPs like ConvertKit or MailerLite via integration.

Should I personalize emails with first name?

Optional. Email-only opt-in forms convert higher. Personalization in body copy matters more than merge tags for most small lists.

Pick one sequence type and wire it in WordPress before you copy the rest. New list builders should start with sequence 1 on a lead magnet funnel page.

Affiliate publishers can paste sequence 2 from the affiliate funnel template directly into BlitzFunnel step 4.

For automation setup and deliverability checks, read WordPress email automation. When you need the full funnel context beyond email copy, see the WordPress email funnel guide and affiliate email sequence article on pitch timing.
